All figures are illustrative estimates based on 2026 Madrid rates, entered in US dollars and converted at $1 = €0.8933. They are not tax advice. Your actual position depends on your residency, income type, assets and timing.
Income tax uses the 2026 state and Madrid scales (top rate 45%) with the basic personal allowance only. Beckham Law figures assume you qualify: 24% on Spanish income up to €600,000 (47% above) and 0% on foreign investment income, for the year you arrive and the 5 following years. You must apply within 6 months of registering with Spanish Social Security.
Wealth tax: Madrid gives a 100% discount on regional wealth tax, but the national solidarity tax still applies above about €3.7 million (€700,000 allowance plus a €300,000 main-home exemption). Under the Beckham Law only Spanish assets count. The 60% combined cap on income and wealth taxes is not included.
Inheritance tax assumes the heir lives in Madrid and has existing wealth under €402,678 (multiplier 1.0 for close family). Madrid's discount is 99% for children, spouses and parents and 50% for siblings, nephews and nieces. Inheritance tax planning needs a full assessment, so no saving is shown for it.
